New Year's Eve Prayer (outdoors & indoors)
Văn khấn Giao thừa (ngoài trời & trong nhà)
Đón Hành khiển năm mới, lễ gia tiên
About this text
The New Year's Eve Prayer has two parts: outdoors to bid farewell to the old Guardian Spirit, welcome the new one, and pray for national peace and prosperity; indoors to honor the Household Deity and ancestors, wishing for a peaceful and happy new year. Recite at midnight, the transition between the old and new year.
Preparation & offerings
Prepare incense, flowers, candles, betel, wine, sweets, and a tray of savory or vegetarian offerings. Set up the outdoor altar facing the open sky; indoors, arrange offerings on the Household Deity and ancestor altars. Dress respectfully and pray sincerely.
Bracketed parts are for you to fill in (name, address, lunar date, wish). The mobile app fills them in automatically.
